My homage to Bikini Kill

i know i talk a lot about bikini kill & this is my homage to them & the riot grrl movement.
it seriously took me almost 2 weeks to finish too, lots o' stitchin'. i dig it! now i have to find a frame for it.

We're Bikini Kill and we want revolution Grrl-style now!!!
Hey girlfriend I got a proposition goes something like this:
Dare ya to do what you want
Dare ya to be who you will
Dare ya to cry right outloud
"You get so emotional baby"
Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya Girl fuckin friend yeah
Double dare ya Double dare ya Double dare ya Girl
Don't you talk out of line
Don't go speaking out of your turn
Gotta listen to what the Man says

Time to make his stomach burn
Burn, burn, burn, burn
Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya
Girl fuckin friend yeah
Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya Girl
You're a big girl now
You've got no reason not to fight
You've got to know what they are
So you can stand up for your rights
Rights, rights? You DO have rights

oh! i finally set up my etsy shop!
it's just my cross stitched stuff right now & a few embroideries. i'm pretty confident that i'm not going to get licensed for sublime stitching haha. it's been like 2 weeks & i haven't heard anything back yet..soo...yeah. and honestly, *most* things i've made so far have been for me & i can't imagine anyone else buying a "three words kill" tea towel :D
plus, now i can get really creative with things that aren't copyrighted!
i think i'm going to take a little hiatus from the needlecrafting for a minute though..put my energy into something else, like reading & learning japanese (!)

Hells yeah, lady! I LOVE this new cross stitch of yours! Makes me wanna get out my granny dress and docs. ;)

Good luck with the Etsy shop! Figuring out what to charge for your own work is always tricky, but in my school of thought, charge what you feel is right, then monitor and adjust.

This is so RAD! I love it so much! I showed it to everyone at the crisis line and they all love it too!

In my heart I feel that your work is worth much more, but I'm not sure what the other 'paying public' would say...I mean, I charge $20 to $30 for resin pendants, and while they're quite time consuming, they are nowhere close to as painstaking.

I think about how much I would want to get paid per hour for working, and take a little off because I love what I do.

Maybe add 5 bucks and see what goes? I mean, you're getting press and mentions, etc. Besides my girlfriend made the point to me one day that if you start selling super inexpensive, people will always expect it that way.

Sorry, that got wordy fast.
