Tattoo flash embroideries

Seems as though I've neglected this blog! I promise it's not on purpose, but life sometimes gets in the way with my blogging I suppose :)

So what's new? My husband & I moved into our new apartment, I've been keeping busy with crafts (of course), and trying to concentrate on building my clientele at the salon..I've been a busy girl!

Shall we get on with the crafts? Let's....

For the past few days I've been busy with a pretty nice sized embroidery. I'm super proud of it although looking at it after it's finished there are a few things I would change, but that's just me being a perfectionist. I don't think it's any secret that I love embroidering tattoo flash, but man I really loved this project. So much satin stitch!

available @ my etsy for $35!

While Will(the hubs) is always complimentary of my work, he seemed especially impressed by this :)

I also did a piece with some color tinting, which I looooove! It really does add a lot to embroidery.

This one I am keeping for myself. Me likes.

And although this last one doesn't really constitute as tattoo flash, it does have tattoo lettering!
I'm not going to say I hate stupid people because, without them, what would there be to entertain me? I will say that I think someone with some intelligence is definitely extremely attractive though, don't you agree?

Yeah, it looks a little dirty. That's because the ink from the brains transfer kinda bled through. A wash & it'll not look...dirty haha.

That's all for now! I have several more projects to post about soon though, so check back. And hey, have you checked out my Etsy store yet? :)

Love Bear

I've been on an "embroidering super cute things" kick, apparently. I finished this one up tonight!

Isn't he just adorable? It's been nice to take a break from studying for my board exams (I'm taking my written exam on Tuesday!!!) to just relax & craft a little bit :)

Wanna take this little guy home? He's available at my Etsy for only $12!

Who wants ice cream?

I made this little guy last night & I love him! Like Bridget said, "I get the feeling that he's thinking to himself: "My GOD. I'm DELICIOUS." I figured I'd show him off!

And that little speck you see in the corner was just a little bit of extra thread, it's not there anymore :) I used split stitch, back stitch, & satin stitch.

He's available at my Etsy shop for only $16!

Things I Love Thursday!

Dressing up for work This is totally new for me, since I've always had a job that most of the time required a uniform. But now? I wear skirts, dresses, flowers in my hair (including Brook's famous headbands!), do my hair & makeup. I have morphed into a total goddamn girl! And seriously, I am so not a dress wearing chick. But I seemed to have become one....which is fine because I stay pretty comfortable in the Alabama heat.

Embroidery Last post I talked about how I was getting bored with cross stitch so I actually did embroider something! And I'm actually pretty proud of it! You can see more of my pictures on my Flickr (I'll have a post about it later, I'm sure)
Not eating garbage So for a while I felt like I was just like a walking trash compactor, which is fitting because I was eating nothing but junk. When me & Will went grocery shopping a few days ago we loaded up on lots of fruits & veggies & good stuff. I already feel better! And since we have no chocolate in the house now, I have to eat fruit if I need something sweet (which is pretty often) . We even found the most amazing yogurt EVER which is orange creamsicle. No shit, it tastes just like a Flintstones Push-Up. Yuuuuum!

*honorable mentions*
C.O.Bigelow Mentha body wash is the shit, new mythbusters, new inspirations, Nothing in this book is true, but it's exactly how things are, reading comics on the computer is actually awesome, lint brushes, french vanilla yogurt, Martinellis applejuice, new friends, Michelle's adorable baby starting to coo, 6 hour naps on the couch

More sections of the Christian Bale rant...and MORE!

Yes, slowly but surely, I'm getting more & more of the rant done! I have a couple more in mind & will hopefully be able to take a group shot soon!

available @ my etsy for $20!

I really liked doing the border on that one....looks like purple snowflakes to me.

available @ my etsy for $20!

And I like the little birds squawking at each other :) This one is one of my faves!

So yeah, I should be getting the rest finished soon. I just wonder if they'll actually sell?

I did make a couple more cross stitches for Etsy! They're a little more gangsta gangsta than the rant, ya heard!

First one was inspired by Trina & all her raunchiness. A little background: me & my friends thought Trina was absolutely fucking hilarious & this song became our theme song.
available @ my etsy for $17!

That frame just totally caught my eye & knew that something 'diva-ish' needed to go in it. I usually don't look at a frame & say,"Yes! I know exactly what to do with it!" I usually just look at a frame & think,"That looks cool..." That's as far as I go with the frame buying. But this one was....different.

Then of course, Pimpin' Ain't Easy seemed like a natural follow up. I liked the font...it's all girlie, flowery, & pretty!

available @ my etsy for $20!

That's all the crafts for now! I'm getting kinda tired of cross stitch so I may be doing more embroidery soon. I've been so busy with work lately that I haven't made a whole lot of time for crafting.

And soon I have to start studying for my state board exams! Yay! Soon, I will be a licensed cosmetologist. So far, I really really enjoy the job. I've started at a Paul Mitchell salon & work with some really cool chicks, one being the friend that got me the job in the first place! So nice to work around girls that all get along. Also, having a job where I can dress however I want, have as many tattoos & piercings as I want, listen to whatever music I want...is so very awesome!

So I have a question for you all that still read this...Should I continue to do Things I Love Thursday? I know I've neglected to over the past few weeks...I'm wondering if I should pick it up again?

For fuck's sake, man, you're amateur

Hello all! I feel like it's been too long since I had a craft related post, so here's the goods! As some of you may know, I've been doing sections of the Christian Bale rant. If you haven't heard it yet, you live under a rock. Just kidding, you can hear it in all it's glory here. Believe me, if you love the word fuck, then you'll love the rant! This one is one of my personal favorites..

available @ my etsy for $20!
Then this one just had to be done.

available at my etsy for $20!

I've started on another one & hopefully it will be done by tonight! I'm having a hard time finding cool borders so if you guys know of any sites or books I should get, holla!

I tried my hand at stitching fabric onto a onesie. It went...ok. It could've turned out better, but I'm still pleased with it! I should've used my sewing machine, but I didn't, so it ended up with some puckering & bubbles. I still think it's a pretty fucking sweet onesie though! If I had a kid, it would totally be rocking stuff like this. It really doesn't look as crooked in real life :)

available @ my etsy for $15!

Who doesn't love robots? Who doesn't love lovebots? I really liked stitching this one! I used split stitch, back stitch, & satin stitch. LoveBot was even featured on Feeling Stitchy! Pattern by Urban Threads
SOLD!

I even did one of those cool sidewys shots I see! Haha!

Remember those patches I had a few entries back? Well, I took the advice & made them into brooches. Buy some! They's cheap!

available @ my etsy for $3 each!

Yep, this little break has kept me a busy girl! I've really enjoyed being able to craft as much as I have been lately.

On a non craft related note, I got my leg worked on Wednesday. This was a graduation/birthday present :) First session is done! This is my family's coat of arms. A lot of my tattoos are family related. The flowers on my arm(there's pictures on the blog somewhere) each represent a member of my family, and they're their birth month flowers. Back to the family coat of arms...Manu Forti means "With a strong hand". I love it & can't wait to see it finished!

Urban Threads rock my world

So I've been using a lot of Urban Threads patterns lately & I have fallen in love with their designs! I've done a few other embroideries (here, here, & here) with their stuff & they were big hits (they're patterns are so fucking adorable!) & decided to do a few more. I made a couple of patches that I really like! I plan on selling them on Etsy for the cheap cheap but I plan on making a few more things before I list them. Do you guys think they would even sell? I know my taste can sometimes be quite different from other people's but I dunno...

And then I embroidered this cute little hardcore bunny. Upon the advice of Ruby, I think she'll go on a baby onesie. Kind of a shitty picture, but you get the idea...

Isn't she ADORABLE?!

I have several patterns that are just waiting to be stitched up & soon I'll actually have plenty of free time! Wanna know why? I quit my current job and I'll be graduating in a few days! Twelve days to be exact, but hey, who's counting? I'll get a nice little vacation (much needed) before I start my new job. I'll be glad to start a new chapter...it feels like my life has been put on hold for over a year now so I'm totally stoked that it will all be over with soon, I'll have a job I love, working with people I get along with & have something in common with. And I'll have a social life again! Yay!

What I did yesterday

So I didn't go to school yesterday because Will was supposed to have a root canal so I was going to of course, be his caretaker & chauffeur to & from the dentist. I figured he would be gassed & be pretty loopy afterwards. I wanted to stick around to see that! Well, his insurance wouldn't cover the procedure until after April 1st. Isn't that some bullshit? I hate waiting periods for insurance. I hate having to have insurance, period. Especially since mine went up $30 dollars this year. Ugh.

Where was I?

So I was gonna stay home anyway. I thought I might as well get some craftin' done!

And craft I did. I got 3 projects knocked out yesterday!

available @ my etsy for $15.00!

I thought this was a funny one to do & then it came to me that it was especially funny with the hoes vs. hos debate! I really hope no one takes offense to it though, because..that's not the point. Anywho, it was a quickie & i think the font is cute & the border's cute & four letter words are my favorite kind!
I even thought it was a Mitch Hedberg quote, but it's not.

I am in love with this scarf pattern! I need to find another different pattern before everyone's fucking tired of seeing the same open-work scarf over & over again. This one is MINE though, bitches! Also, I've decided that I put my hands on my hips A LOT. I may need to find something to do with my arms. Besides putting them on my hips.

I also did another "literal" embroidery! This shirt kind of goes with these panties & this shirt. I really really like it! This is such a ridiculous picture of me haha...Will told me to "strike a pose" and I came up with this one. I call it "contemplative" or "pretentiously looking away". I started off working with a stabilizer & it was just not working for me. I was getting pissed. So I unhooped it & ripped the stabilizer out & started again. You know what? It was so much easier! Now, I stretched that shit tight over the hoop which probably isn't a good idea because it might be permanently stretched but mine bounced back! I'm happy! Another shirt salvaged. :)

Here's a shitty close up..

I stuck with the same color scheme as Jenny Hart's & I really like how it turned out!

Back to four letter words.

What the hell? It has been way too long since I've stitched up some vulgarity so I made up for it a little bit over the past few days with two new cross stitches!

The first one is a Dr. Dre lyric...one of my favorites too. It's been a long time coming for real. I really can't believe it's taken me this long to actually cross stitch it!

available @ my etsy for $16.00!

I am really diggin' this one...the font reminds me of computers..like a Commodore 64 or something (yeah, I went there). And the flower borders to make it a little girlie. You know, for them bitches.

Ben Folds does a cover of the song that's also really awesome (surprise! Ben Folds is awesome!)

I guess I've been feeling especially ghetto lately because then there's this one...

available @ my etsy for $18.00!

I actually don't even say y'all habitually like people think most southerners do, but "Fuck All You Guys" does not have the same effect. Fuck All Y'all...it really cuts to the core. And it basically sums up my attitude between the hours of 8am to 4pm.

The frame is awesome, it's got kind of a gothic feel to it.

I'm not gonna lie, I fucking love the shit out of both of these cross stitches & I hope they sell quickly so I won't have the urge to pull them from Etsy & keep them for myself.

Other than that, I'm kind of half assed working on the MegaMan towel & also working on another embroidery. Will is bummed that I want to work on other things than the towel but it's so tedious. Ugh. I just wish I could snap my fingers & it would be done because it's gonna take a while. He said if I showed him how to do it, he would cross stitch it..how adorable is that. I would love to see Will crafting alongside me, then we'd really be the most disgustingly cute couple ever. Our cats would vomit on us because they were so disgusted.

He's actually getting good at recognizing certain stitches I do. Like last night he said, "Oh, is that satin stitch? That looks almost professionally done." I wanted to just smoosh his cheeks & kiss him after that! What a guy...he actually seems genuinely interested in my crafts :)

Things I Love Thursday (late)

So it's been a minute since I last did a TiLT, eh? I think it's about time! But first I'll try to catch you guys up on what happened over my magnificent holidays!

♥ drank champagne for 2 weeks & suffered some terrible hangovers, saw friends I haven't seen in forever, played lots of video games, laughed a whole lot, hugged a whole lot, spend tons of time with our family, watched a "Moon Pie" rise (instead of drop) for the new years....it was such an incredible let down, saw a live cabbage patch kid that is now Will's nephew, crafted a good amount, slept in a lot & went to bed late, ate too much terrible food, did too much drinking, I HAD A BLAST!! ♥

I seriously feel revived from my 2 weeks off. I also already miss it. A week in to reality, and I already want to be back on vacation. ANYWAY!

The Futureheads I have been on a kick for the past few weeks & I may need some rehabilitation. I cannot stop listening to them! And I imagine that MrXStitch likes them, but that's only because they're both from the UK & I'm stereotyping. But they are a great band & I've included several videos for your visual & aural entertainment.

You'll recognize this one from Grandma's Boy, if you've seen it.

2009 Gonna be a good year! Because last year kinda sucked for me, for reasons I'm sure most of you are aware of by now. I have big hopes for this year & I don't think it'll disappoint. I've even made a resolution & so far I've been kicking ass at it. I had wanted to read at least one book a month, and I've already started on my second book. Woot woot!

Graduation!!! Although it's not any time in the next few days or so, I'm getting soooo close! I should have about 2 months left, after being there since the end of last January. I'm at 1160 hours out of the 1500 needed to graduate. I'm really proud of myself for sticking it out, because it's basically like having a full time job that I don't get paid for, then I leave & go to my job that does pay me. I will be glad when it's OVER!! And I got a jobby waiting for me!

*Honorable Mentions*
much needed relaxation, emergency pants, craftin', my new super fly shears, severe giggle fits at 4am with Will, seeing my cute pregnant friend Danica, doing absolutely nothing, pizza, mint chocolate chip ice cream, Will because he is always awesome, moon pies & fireworks, playing pictionary even though we sucked, my hello kitty doll Will got me (I'm an addict), MST3K, leg lamps, striped tube socks, giant purses, surprise paychecks ♥

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

I have a few crafts to show!

These are all from Urban Threads. Um...LOVE THEM NOW. I added this to my Etsy & it was sold right away!

Same with this one!
In all fairness, I listed them for Bliss & Bridget :) I do think they are absolutely adorable cupcakes though!

I also made this little guy...
I love him & he is MINE. If you would like for me to make one for you to buy though, I certainly will, just holla atcha girl!

I have a few more embroidery patterns I wanna stitch up, but I have my Mega Man towel I'm working on right now & a cross stitch in mind...that I may actually do tonight. Hmmm...

So that's it for the week! Maybe I'll keep up with it from now on since the holidaze is over.

Last Post of the Year!

I can't believe this year is already almost over! We still don't have any plans for New Year's Eve, but I'm sure we'll end up meeting up with our friends somewhere along the way. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past two weeks off. I needed a serious battery recharge. It's back to the grind full time on January 5th though!

I have a few projects that I got done on my break or before that. I didn't craft nearly as much as I thought I was going to but that's ok! I got caught up on a lot of snuggles & sleep :)

I finally finished my open-work scarf. After unraveling it 3 times (I can't fix knitting mistakes) I finally finished it. Haha, it's pretty long, I think it's about 8 feet long which makes for a pretty long scarf on me! It was my first time doing any kind of lacy looking open-work knitting & I really don't know why I didn't do it before because the pattern was super simple!
available @ my etsy for $23.00! sold!

You can kinda tell how long it is in this picture...a little too long for my body, i think!

I also made some cute little earrings. I needed a jewelry quickie!

available @ my etsy for $7.00!

available @ my etsy for $4.00!

I love the skull & crossbones earrings! They are so fucking cute! They even have real Swarovski crystals in them, which is why the price is a little higher than the dragonfly earrings.

Oh! I almost forgot my pretty pink fuzzy scarf! Dude, I have been on a serious scarf kick, I guess. This scarf is awesome, it's super duper soft too. Sometimes fuzzy yarn can be itchy to me, but this one's not. It's reeeeally nice :)

available @ my etsy for $23.00!

Aaaaand I even fit in 2 cross stitches!
The first one I think is only funny to me...kind of a long & pointless story but there was a show called 30 Days (thanks again, Bridget!) & one of the episodes involved a cake with the writing "Let's Agree to Disagree" & it just cracked my shit UP! I really don't even know why! Maybe just the thought of giving someone a cake that says that just tickles me...I dunno.
But it's such a great saying to me! You'll have people in your life that you will just never see eye to eye with or someone who will "always be right"...and I think this just sums it up pretty perfectly!
available @ my etsy for $18.00!

I am totally in love with that font. I don't care if it's a little hard to read, I love it! I picked up Alphabets Galore, which I wish I would've stumbled upon sooner, at Hobby Lobby a little over a month ago & this is one of my favorite fonts in it. And it's so quick too! I loved it so much that I used it for another cross stitch....

available @ my etsy for $15.00!

This one says "Snug It Out" which is a reference to the fucking hilarious & weird show on Adult Swim called Tim & Eric Awesome Show:Great job! Anywho, Zach Galifianakis is awesome & I love him & he plays a character called "The Snuggler"..

The Snuggler

It's absolutely ridiculous & absurd...I love that show :)

I guess that's my big craft update! I wish I would've remembered to take pictures of the custom orders I did this week. They were very simple & I really liked the way they turned out! Maybe the customer will post pics on the Customer Appreciation or something..

I got some really cute embroidery patterns from UrbanThreads, so I think I may have to stitch a couple tonight...I didn't realize how adorable some of their patterns are!

I hope everyone has a safe & wonderful New Year! I know I will definitely have to do a little detoxing once the new year begins...haha, a little too much indulgence the past few weeks :)
