Oh, hello cross stitch. I missed you.

It had been too long...way too long since I had gone on a cross stitching binge. I'm still in the throes of it, but I thought I'd post a few that I've done in the past couple of weeks.
First up, a custom order for my friend. This was inspired by an actual sign in Alabama (BIBLE BELT REPRAZENT!)

I accidentally made it heart shaped. But ya know, I think that's kinda perfect. Wanna see the sign that it's inspired by? Sure you do!
If there's one thing I love about living in Alabama, it's the hilarious church signs. Fucking priceless. I'm thinking about making another one to add to my Etsy shop...hmm...maybe...

Now here's one that I recently added. I had already done the quote before but I thought I'd do another & change it up a bit. This was a quote from Tina Fey & goddamn, I just thought it was hilarious & so SO true. Check out the skit here. And ok, yeah, I changed "stuff" to "shit". Thought it had a better ring to it. So sue me. don't sue me.

available @ my Etsy for $17!

Going back to the church-y kinda stuff, I took inspiration from one of my husband's old T-shirts & made this little gem. The lesser known 11th commandment!
I really really love this one. I was going for that stone tablet appeal. Well, for the font at least.

And then I was inspired by one of my all-time favorite video games, Super Mario Bros 3. Now, I think that across the board, gamers hate water levels of all kinds. But man, I really think the water levels in SMB3 are a real fucking bitch. Thank jeebus for the frog suit.

available @ my Etsy for $16!

I cannot tell you how many times my husband & I have uttered these words. Ugh. Fucking HATE water levels.

I'll be listing at least one more cross stitch this week. Keep those eyes peeled!

Cross stitch Ca-RAAAZY

So it seems that I've completely immersed myself in the last 2 weeks or so in cross stitch. I think I may need a little break afterward so that I can concentrate on you know....getting my cosmetology license & stuff. Important things need to happen soon. So anyway, I had just an urge to continuously create, some are ones I've done before, on those days where I wasn't feeling especially creative but still wanted to do something & the others are custom orders.
Probably my all time favorite word to say AND stitch. The person who ordered these wanted them unframed (which makes it look unfinished to me :( but whatev) & she wanted them to look like a set.

Definitely could've taken better pictures....but she loved them & that's what matters! I totally loved what she actually wanted them to say too. Anyone that's as vulgar as I am is awesome in my book! At first I was confused on the "Jesus Fuck" thing, but from what I understand it's basically a jumble of cursing. I imagine it to be a frustrated curse like, "Jesus....FUCK!" but that's just me.

Now this is still one of my favorite pieces ever. It caused kind of a stir on Craftster (although I think any mean comments were deleted) & even had a few morons show up on my blog post about it. For the most part, I got very positive feedback & it quickly left my Etsy shop & into the arms of Crafty Dame (hope you love it, Amy!)

available @ my etsy for $25!
Fucking RIGHT!

Anyone hate World of Warcraft? I'm sorry, I know millions upon millions of people play & it's just the coolest game in the fucking world to some people but...shit's retarded. I've never been into MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) because I would rather do other things instead. I dunno, maybe I'll just always be a Nintendo fangirl & think other games are totally worthless. My husband plays it so that gives me permission to hate on this game.

available @ my etsy for $25!

I've been wanting to do an atheist/agnostic piece for a while & decided to stitch this cute little guy up.
available @ my etsy for $5!

It's little. The frame is 2 inches, I believe. I like it though! My initial description on Etsy was something along the lines of "men who wear sandals get what they deserve". It's supposed to be a joke, but maybe it's not a very well-known joke? Either way, my own mother didn't see the laugh value in it, so I took that part out. Only for mom! While I do understand that a lot of my stuff is offensive, and I like it that way, I don't want to totally turn people off...am I making any sense? I don't want people to think I'm a jesus hating bitch, I guess. Although I absolutely am against organized religion & I'm very open about being agnostic. Hey, that's what happens when you attend Christian schools as a kid.

Oh! And on a totally different subject, I got my leg finished!

Thanks CW! Hopefully that will satiate my tattoo needs for a little bit because I am a broke as hell.

Now I must go & continue studying for State Board exams. Whoopy!

Last Post of the Year!

I can't believe this year is already almost over! We still don't have any plans for New Year's Eve, but I'm sure we'll end up meeting up with our friends somewhere along the way. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past two weeks off. I needed a serious battery recharge. It's back to the grind full time on January 5th though!

I have a few projects that I got done on my break or before that. I didn't craft nearly as much as I thought I was going to but that's ok! I got caught up on a lot of snuggles & sleep :)

I finally finished my open-work scarf. After unraveling it 3 times (I can't fix knitting mistakes) I finally finished it. Haha, it's pretty long, I think it's about 8 feet long which makes for a pretty long scarf on me! It was my first time doing any kind of lacy looking open-work knitting & I really don't know why I didn't do it before because the pattern was super simple!
available @ my etsy for $23.00! sold!

You can kinda tell how long it is in this picture...a little too long for my body, i think!

I also made some cute little earrings. I needed a jewelry quickie!

available @ my etsy for $7.00!

available @ my etsy for $4.00!

I love the skull & crossbones earrings! They are so fucking cute! They even have real Swarovski crystals in them, which is why the price is a little higher than the dragonfly earrings.

Oh! I almost forgot my pretty pink fuzzy scarf! Dude, I have been on a serious scarf kick, I guess. This scarf is awesome, it's super duper soft too. Sometimes fuzzy yarn can be itchy to me, but this one's not. It's reeeeally nice :)

available @ my etsy for $23.00!

Aaaaand I even fit in 2 cross stitches!
The first one I think is only funny to me...kind of a long & pointless story but there was a show called 30 Days (thanks again, Bridget!) & one of the episodes involved a cake with the writing "Let's Agree to Disagree" & it just cracked my shit UP! I really don't even know why! Maybe just the thought of giving someone a cake that says that just tickles me...I dunno.
But it's such a great saying to me! You'll have people in your life that you will just never see eye to eye with or someone who will "always be right"...and I think this just sums it up pretty perfectly!
available @ my etsy for $18.00!

I am totally in love with that font. I don't care if it's a little hard to read, I love it! I picked up Alphabets Galore, which I wish I would've stumbled upon sooner, at Hobby Lobby a little over a month ago & this is one of my favorite fonts in it. And it's so quick too! I loved it so much that I used it for another cross stitch....

available @ my etsy for $15.00!

This one says "Snug It Out" which is a reference to the fucking hilarious & weird show on Adult Swim called Tim & Eric Awesome Show:Great job! Anywho, Zach Galifianakis is awesome & I love him & he plays a character called "The Snuggler"..

The Snuggler

It's absolutely ridiculous & absurd...I love that show :)

I guess that's my big craft update! I wish I would've remembered to take pictures of the custom orders I did this week. They were very simple & I really liked the way they turned out! Maybe the customer will post pics on the Customer Appreciation or something..

I got some really cute embroidery patterns from UrbanThreads, so I think I may have to stitch a couple tonight...I didn't realize how adorable some of their patterns are!

I hope everyone has a safe & wonderful New Year! I know I will definitely have to do a little detoxing once the new year begins...haha, a little too much indulgence the past few weeks :)

Breath out, so I can breath you in..

So I was asked to do 2 custom orders for Etsy & when I was told that the subjects were Dave Grohl & Mike Patton, I was more than pleased to make them! I loooove some Foo Fighters & I loooove some Faith No More too.

If you guys don't know who either of these people are then FUCK YOU! Haha, juuuust kidding! But really...what's up with that?

I've decided to include 2 of my favorite videos from the bands, just for shits & giggles.

Everlong has to be probably my favorite Foo Fighters song. Seriously, when I listen to it, it makes me all choked up because i'm super fucking lame. I guess because it reminds me of me & Will. AWWWWW! The video's pretty awesome too.
And this is the cross stitch that she wanted...I think the phrase was super adorable, especially with the little hearts!

Yes. Yes he does.

Oh lordy lordy, I can't tell you how in love I am with Mike Patton. I remember the first time I saw one of Faith No More's videos, Epic, to be exact. I was in 4th grade & we were at our beach house for vacation. I was of course inside because me & the sun, we are not friends. Literally, I've been sent to the hospital with second degree burns on my arms from the sun. Physical therapy, my arms in slings, the whole nine yards. ANYWAY! My brother & I were watching Mtv & it came on...ohhh it was over! Hot guy with long hair bouncing around in an incredibly silly video..yeah, I was hooked. I had the biggest BIGGEST crush.

Ahhh...the '90s.

These aren't the frames that they'll be shipped with, she wanted the gold frame that was used for the grow a pair x stitch.

Yay! I love custom orders!

I really need to make the cross stitch that I thought of last night...I"ll give you a hint. It involves Stephen Colbert!
